An emerging mountain resorts and tourism development company in Pakistan. The Spantick Consulting team has a vast experience of developing various mountain and ski resorts in Swat and Gilgit Baltistan regions.

 

Naltar Ski Resort was in operation since 1958. It was established  to impart survival training to air crew of Pakistan Air Force. It had two vintage ski surface lifts since its inception in 1958. However, it was converted in to modern ski resort with high speed chair & surface lifts, Snow grooming and snow making machines.

 

We also helped in organizing first ever International Ski Federation (FIS) races for the first time in Pakistan at Naltar. Similarly the company also helped in developing Malam Jabba and Magic Mountain resorts in Swat area.  We are working with various organizations in developing new resorts in Chitral, Swat, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir areas.

Mr Shahid Nadeem is a nature enthusiast and has been associated with winter and water sports since early 90s. He has represented PAF in numerous national ski/sailing competitions inland and abroad. Apart from Alpine ski, he is an avid mountaineer, trekker sailor and had extensively travelled in northern Pakistan. He was the leader of the first ever PAF expedition to Antarctic continent. Owing to his love for the winter sports he has remained an integral part of the winter sports Federation of Pakistan since its inception in 1990. While leading the Naltar resort development project he added a modern equipment and infrastructure as a result Naltar is a top winter and summer resort in the country. He introduced the Mountain marathons in Pakistan and first ever international mountain marathon was held in Naltar with 34 different countries participating in the event. This year the world highest altitude road marathon was held at Khunjarab pass where 10 different Guinness world records were made. He under the patronage of NTCB and PTDC intends to hold the world highest marathon on Boltoro Glacier in 2020, starting from K2 Base Camp.

At present he is working as convener Adventure Sports Group, NTCB. In this capacity he has piloted the project of broadening the base of adventure sports in Pakistan and increasing the number of venues for conduct of the adventure activities in the country. Since 1990 WSFP was conducting Alpine ski competitions only and Cross country events were added in 2013. He has introduced ice skating, ice hockey, curling, grass skiing, biathlon and snowboarding competitions, in addition to assisting establishment of snow sports schools in Malam Jabba, Chitral, and AJK. He has been working in close coordination with international ski federation for homologation of venues in Chitral, swat, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan. This will open these valleys to foreign athletes thereby promoting a soft image of Pakistan abroad, contribute in the socioeconomic development of the areas and attract both local and foreign adventure tourist to these areas.
